I am finished. I have really done it! My entry for the “Treasures” art show is finished(except for some finishing touches),and I am ready to show it. So, without further ado, I give you:
Munson-A Treasured FriendI am very happy with the results, but I had to force myself to stop beading before I covered the whole house!
I’ve made some small revisions since these were taken, and I still have to mount it to the wooden box, which used to hold Mom’s ashes, which is very symbolic, because Mom was my treasure, Munson was her treasure, and she had me promise to take care of her dear Muncie after she died. So , it all seems fitting. The “gems”, some real, some semi-precious, some glass, are all Treasures to me, each piece collected over my lifetime thru hand me downs and gifts. I remember where and when I received every stone on the sculpture, and most important, from whom I received it. The carved cat head itself I originally carved about 35 years ago, and it has been sitting out in the garden for the last 20 or so. So , the kitty has received a resurrection of sorts! I love it when a plan comes together!I take it up to the Gallery on Wednesday, not sure exactly when the show really starts. I will keep you posted!
